The Greater Asheville Area Apartment Association (GAAAA) was founded in early 1980 by a group of apartment managers and management firms to provide the apartment industry with an association that could unite them under one name, offering continuing education for their personnel, and providing related service groups the opportunity to become involved. These three factors became the foundation of the present association.
In 2010, the name was changed to the Apartment Association of Western North Carolina to further serve multi-housing professionals in our region.
The three primary objectives of the AAWNC are:
- To promote goodwill and professionalism within the industry and community
- To provide ongoing education opportunities for all members
- To promote the continuing growth of our industry through legislative guidance and support
Each of the above objectives is of vital importance to every member of the Association, especially now, as our industry prepares for a future of increased governmental regulation at all levels, increased competition, and diminishing profitability industry-wide. Our ability to adapt to the future successfully depends to a large degree upon our joint efforts in accomplishing these goals.
AAWNC has much to offer those who are involved with the multi-family housing industry. We encourage you to become an active member and participate in the many facets of the Association.
