2024 Board Election Postponed
AAWNC Postpones November 7 Annual Meeting and Board Election Due to Hurricane Helene
The Apartment Association of Western North Carolina (AAWNC) has announced that its annual meeting and board election, originally slated for November 7, 2024 will be postponed. This decision comes in response to the disruptions and concerns arising from Hurricane Helene.
In response to the postponement, the AAWNC Board of Directors voted to suspend the association's bylaws temporarily. This suspension will allow for the election to be held next year, effectively skipping the 2024 election cycle. Consequently, the current board members will continue to serve in their existing roles until the 2025 election, unless any member decides to resign. The board felt this was the most practical solution to ensure stability and continuity during an uncertain time.
The next board election will take place in 2025, with terms and schedules returning to the regular cadence from that point onward. The AAWNC will provide further updates regarding the rescheduled meeting date and any other changes to the association's activities as the situation evolves.
Members are encouraged to stay informed by monitoring AAWNC communications and checking for updates about the election and future events.
Sincerely,
AAWNC Board
